Halfway through the DC Superheroes line, Mattel and Target partnered to bring us a few exclusive two-packs of figures - Superman and Bizarro, Superman and Clark Kent, and Batman and Batgirl. Through the three pairings of figures we only got two original characters, but Barbara Gordon Batgirl and Clark Kent were well worth the purchase of the redundant partner in their package! The fourth series of DC Superheroes brought us two versions of Superman, a Supergirl, Lex Luthor in his krypto-battlesuit, Darkseid, and Brainiac. The Supes and Supergirl repaints were a bit ‘meh’, but the three villains are three of the best figures from this entire series. In a sorry-ass cost-cutting measure, Mattel went back to the comic pack-ins for this series after including the dioramas in series 3.
